Please Review Our Expectations for Prom Attendees:
Prom Expectations
This event is open to minors
The Prom is open to LGBTQ+ young people and their loved ones between the ages of 14 to 25. These rules are designed and shared clearly to ensure the safety and comfort of everyone within this wide age range.
This is a substance-free event
We are respectful of the fact that some of us may be recovering from the effects of substances. Alcohol and other drugs, or someone that has them in their system, are not permitted at Portland Outright events and programs.
No weapons
This includes prop and toy weapons.
Costumes are costumes, cultures are not costumes
Attendees are encouraged to wear prom attire, their favorite cute outfits, or costumes related to the theme. Attendees are not allowed to wear costumes that stereotype or harm marginalized groups (ex. Any form of racist face painting, Indigenous spiritual regalia, etc.)
Respect and consent are mandatory
We avoid talking negatively about others or sharing personal information without permission, especially when they are not present.
We encourage everyone to avoid making assumptions about anyone, respect preferred gender pronouns, and respect our differences in background and experience.
We ask that no affectionate physical contact occur between or among people unless there is clear, consistent consent. We ask that people avoid making out and engaging in other stimulating behaviors out of respect for the group space.
Re-entry is limited
There will be a designated smoking area outside the venue, but attendees will not be allowed to leave beyond that area and return to the venue.
By registering here and reserving a ticket, you are agreeing to Portland Outright’s prom expectations
