Steve Bull (He/him)

Steve Bull grew up in the Kennebunk/Kennebunkport area.  As a junior at the University of Maine at Orono, he was part of a small group that founded the Wilde-Stein Club, a gay and lesbian student group on campus in the Fall of 1973. This triggered a controversy that raged for six months culminating in the first state-wide conference.  During this time Steve was the primary public spokesperson for the group and chaired the first Maine Gay Symposium at UMO in April,  1974.

Steve now chairs the Advisory Committee for the LGBTQ+ Collection at the Jean Byers Sampson Center for Diversity in Maine at the University of Southern Maine in Portland which is the main repository of the rich history of the LGBTQ+ community in Maine and co-hosts the weekly radio talk show, OUTCast, on WMPG.
